What we do

We’re at the heart of all trading activity at wilko. Our team are subject matter experts within their own categories, offering support across the trading floor and keeping track of all activity landing in our stores. Creating and managing the Trade Plan, Promotional Plan and Range Plan for the business, we methodically organise promotions and events that aim to exceed our customer expectations.

The difference we make

We’re the conscience and the glue across the trading teams, landing right-first-time activity across our stores. We adapt to change, seize new opportunities and pull together to get the job done, often against demanding deadlines. We also really look after one another like a little work family.

Now that’s interesting

We land at least 40 promotion plans in a 12-month cycle and manage over 420 critical paths at any one time. What’s more, some of the events we’ve created are best in class and have gained us credible market share over the years, particularly in categories we’re famous for.

A place to grow

We’ve some great examples of sideways and vertical career development. Some people have climbed the career ladder into the trade planning team from other areas of the business, while others who started their career here have moved outside our department to diversify their experience, before returning at a higher level. This shows our commitment to championing training, coaching and career progression.
