Making it fit since 1930

What we do

We design the interior layouts of wilko stores and create virtual planograms, there isn’t an inch of space we don’t account for. Maximising the ‘Sales Per Metre’, we make sure we’ve the correct space to sales ratio for products – micro and macro – and the right mix of products in the right stores.

It’s complex stuff. We’re responsible for core as well as promotional builds and have to consider things like customer flow as well as health and safety. Using customer insight, market data and sales reports to inform our decisions, we constantly review commercial performance across all layouts and floor plans and are at the forefront of new format thinking.

The difference we make

We’re experts at pulling together to get the job done ‘right first time’. We’ve hundreds of years of retail space planning experience between us and are firm believers in the benefits of sharing best practice. We also have a strong passion for what we do and encourage regular change and category diversity. It’s why there’s always something new and exciting to learn here and someone to share it with too.

Now that’s interesting

At any one point, we have at least 20,000 live planograms in our system and 500 live floor plans, which we look after and maintain. That’s huge!  We also own and look after 6,835,534 square feet of retail space daily with 30,000 metres of seasonal space which is planned at each transition (Garden, Summer, Autumn, Christmas and January).

A place to grow

Training, opportunity and heaps of support. You’ll find it all in Space. Individual personal development plans will help you to identify where and how you’d like to progress, whatever your level. We have an extensive induction plan, mentors, one-to-one line manager chats, the opportunity to pursue apprenticeships and room for everyone to develop and grow. What’s more, we always listen to you and are open to fresh ideas and new ways of working.

 Why you should join us

We’re professional, progressive and fun. Highly supportive of individual and team success, we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we seriously love what we do. The diversity of our store sizes and locations offers more opportunity and interest than most retailers, whilst being part of a business with positive values that are lived every day makes you feel really proud. Wilko really supports you to be your best with a good work-life balance that works for you and regular encouragement to push yourself further.
